A Father’s Love

Sometimes you are here,
Sometimes you are not.
At times you are near,
There are times you are far.

You may not always be there in times of misery,
But you are, to achieve a home full of harmony.
You taught us to decide on our own,
Gave us the courage to stand alone.

You are there that we can call,
Each time that we will fall.
You are there to help us stand,
And experience life the best we can.

You opened our eyes to reality,
To the world’s cruelties,
So when we step into the world and take our part,
We won’t have to walk in the dark.

You have taught us a lot,
May you be present or not.
We have all the great things in life,
And the best of them is your love.....
