Tears

I wanted to fall down your face

washing away the pain

but you held me in place

you held on to stay sane

That wouldn't have been my option

would have wanted you to be free

of all the binding emotions

and the future you will be able to see

But you preferred to keep it in

all choked up, unable to breathe

the pain escalating within

kept comfort at arm's length

You can only be strong for so long

putting up a brave front and all

in time you would have to move along

give way and allow the tears to fall
